I can speak from personal experience -- this girl is the BEST cheerleader!

I agree with you about the goals - both inspiring and depressing all rolled into one. I guess it's about the little things and achieving them bit by bit. The big ones are a bit too overwhelming for me. :-)

I'm glad you chose this conference to help you check another "Thing" off the list:) It's another confirmation and confidence builder for using technology in the classroom. Great idea to embed the conference right into your blog! I also like that you tied the post back to our first task to remind us to keep it light.

"I have never really shared content on the web probably because I didn’t think I had anything worth sharing." You sound like me a few years ago! But actually, it's the kids that are sharing-you are just guiding the ship. :)

Now I want a t-shirt that says "Better Cite than Sorry!" I think you are on the right track with viewing it as a "life lesson." It's a global ethic -- there are so many ways to "plagiarize" or steal others' work -- and the digital world just proliferates them... it gets grayer, too, as these new tools, and creative commons, invite collaboration -- but they always stress proper attribution. I hope we are teaching these concepts well before seventh grade... I think one of the most powerful ways to drive it home is to get students thinking about how they'd feel if someone stole their work. Maybe valuing intellectual property begins with valuing your own.

I feel exactly the same way about this course! It is actually a lot of fun and ADDICTING! I am always wanting to pull it back up and add to it!

I agree with you wholeheartedly about citing your work. It is true that we have the tools at our disposal, but let us not abuse what we have.
Thanks for the great commentary.

Your blog is looking great! Let's come up with some non-traditional ways to have our students blog and assess them. Debate over the literature? Science hypotheses? The blogging world is full of opportunities!

I think you're right about letting go of traditional methods of assessment and finding ways to incorporate the weblog ideas into the classroom. Figuring out how to use the blog in a meaningful way seems like the most difficult concept for me to grasp. How do you use this great tool so that it doesn't become just 'something else to do?'
