I have a deep down desire to be into podcasting but right now I am just not. I guess the first thing I had to do was understand that subscribing to a podcast is different then just going to United Streaming and finding a video clip to show my students. I subsrcibed to 2 different podcasts. The first one is a wecast from Berkeley of a General Human Anatomy. I am only able to listen to the audio which is good for me but I don’t think it is conducive to using in the classroom. Even if there is just a professor lecturing I feel like my students need something to look at. But the 2 that I listened to on the Skeletal System were really good and I learned quite a few new things just from those 2 classes. The other podcast that I subscribed to was Why? The Science Show. Some of my favorites are Why Can’t Fish Remember Stuff? and Why Don’t the Oceans Freeze? The content is geared toward a younger audience but some really good information. Once again I enjoyed listening but I am not sure my students would.
I know there are lots of other podcasts out there for me to check out. One more thing for me to add to my summer to do list.
